From 12th to 14th of June 2024, doctoral students from the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (INP PAN), under the academic supervision of Professor Katarzyna Kubuj, participated in the international summer school “e-Democracy: Transparency and Openness of Institutions” at the Faculty of Law, Roma Tre University, as part of the e-Delib project. The e-Delib initiative is an International Research Network that connects academic centers from France (University of Lille, Aix-Marseille University), Belgium (Catholic University of Louvain), Italy (Roma Tre University), Poland (Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences), and Sweden (Södertörn University).
This year’s edition of the project was dedicated to the issues of digitalization in the context of the functioning of state institutions (their organization, legislative methods, ways of communicating with citizens). The event included lectures, seminars, and workshops. More than 20 doctoral students participated in the summer school. INP PAN doctoral students Kalina Skwiecińska, Karol Bieńkowski, and Magdalena Rząca presented the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration Decision-Making and the Transparency of the Decisional Process” during the Masterclass.
The e-delib summer school program concluded with a final roundtable debate at Palazzo Giustiniani and a visit to the Constitutional Court and the Senate of the Italian Republic.
