The Institute of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences publishes peer-reviewed monographs and anthologies in the field of legal sciences and criminology. The high standard of publications is supervised by the Scientific Council of the Publishing House, chaired by the director, Dr hab. Celina Nowak, Prof. ILS PAS.

The Publishing House of ILS PAS release the following scientific journal:
- „Archives of Criminology / Archiwum Kryminologii”,
- „Biuletyn Kryminologiczny”,
- „Contemporary Central and East European Law”,
- „Polish Yearbook of International Law”,
- „Legal Studies / Studia Prawnicze PAN”.
The publications by the Institute of Legal Sciences contain original academic findings on important issues of the legal and related sciences, which are worthy of popularising, both among national research centres and in the international scientific community.
Monographs are published, among others, in leading publishing series:
- Rozprawy Prawnicze Seria monograficzna INP PAN;
- two mini-monograph series: Basic Reserach and Frontier Research;
- Nauki Penalne (former: Kryminologia) – thematic series a thematic series publishing books on criminal law and penal sciences;
- English-language series Legal Monographs; and
- Raporty INP PAN / ILS PAS Reports and Working Papepers – shorter forms of publication enabling quick distribution of research results in international scientific communication channels and their transfer to the socio-economic environment.
Together with C.H. Beck, the Institute of Law Studies PAS is the co-publisher of the monumental series: System Prawa Administracyjnego [Administrative Law System], System Prawa Karnego [Criminal Law System], System Prawa Medycznego [Medical Law System], System Prawa Prywatnego [Private Law System], and System Prawa UE [EU Law System].
Persons interested in cooperating with the publishing house are welcome to consult the Publishing Policy and the Institutional Openness Policy and Publishing Ethics, in accordance with the standards recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The publishing procedure is defined in Article 4 of the ‘Rules for preparing texts for publication in the ILS PAS Publishing House’. Additionally, the Scientific Council of the ILS PAS considers proposals for papers that have not been submitted to the Publication Plan of the ILS PAS quarterly. Publication proposals should be submitted by handing in an publishing with the publishing proposal in room 322. Moreover, an electronic version of the application and a manuscript of the publication proposal (in PDF format) should be sent to wydawnictwo@inp.pan.pl.
The Publishing House applies uniform standards for qualifying scholarly monographs and collections for publication, regardless of whether the fee for publication has been paid and in what amount.
Publishing proposals accepted by the Scientific Council of the Publishing House are subjected to a double review procedure. Reviewers associated with the Publishing House observe the ethical standards specified in thePublishing Ethics and are obliged to submit a conflict of interest disclosure.
To maintain high recognition of the published titles, the Publishing House makes sure that the publications meet the editorial standards required by reference databases, especially Web of Science. ILS PAS prefers publications published in the open access model.
ILS PAS is included in the list of journals that publish peer-reviewed scholarly monographs as announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) on 30 September 2020.
